Standing 6’ 3” tall and sporting dozens of tattoos, Owenn projects an enigmatic spirit, smokey sense of soul, and air of mystique as if he stepped out of the pages of some classic novel. This carries over to his music, which rises up between bluesy rock, airy R&B, and ambitious pop. With everyone from Taylor Swift to legendary guitarist Nuno Bettencourt in his corner, he formally introduces himself on his 2021 debut for Island Records/Atlantic Entertainment. Initially immersing himself in the artform of dance, he went on to perform at the age of 17 for the likes of Lady Gaga and Alicia Keys and at 19 joined Rihanna on tour. Between joining Rihanna for the LOUD World Tour and Miley Cyrus on the Bangerz World Tour, he took the stage at the Atlantic City residency Revel Presents: Beyoncé Live, in her “Love On Top” video, and during Bey’s history-making headline set at Coachella 2018. Simultaneously, he became a staple of Taylor Swift’s show on the 1989 Tour and Reputation Tour. Along the way, he quietly developed a sound of his own and tapped into inspiration by Prince, Marvin Gaye, Usher, David Bowie, and The Smiths. His emotional and spiritual approach to dance translated to writing, singing and recording. Now, the debut single “Baby Girl” opens up his world.
