Born and raised in Newport Beach, Gunnar Gehl first picked up the guitar at just seven years old, taking inspiration from classic rock, country music, and '90s alt-rock. While in junior high school, he formed a local band who would play covers at small shows, but the group went their separate ways after high school. Gehl continued to play and record at a local studio, posting cover versions online and earning a large social media following. In 2018, he was exposed to a massive new audience when he opened for the Simon Cowell-produced outfit PRETTYMUCH on 22 dates across the U.S. He inked a deal with pop and country label Big Machine, which released Gehl's first single, "For Your Love," at the beginning of 2020. The album One Second of One Day appeared just a few months later and featured songwriting and production collaborations with Julian Bunetta, AFTRHRS, Mags Duval, and others. "Best Mistake," GUNNAR's latest full length release, dropped February 24th, 2023.
